Hot Days, Cool Nights
The estate cultivates in netural and integrated vineyards
where mostly Grüner Veltliner and Riesling are grown.
The richness of materials in the wines is due to the soil of primary rocks (weather-worn granite). Also the micro-climate of the Kremstal and the huge impact of intense heat in the summer and severe cold in the winter have a decisive influence on the wine. It is quite common that hot summer days are followed by cool night temperatures coming from the Waldviertel. Consequently the grape skins, streched by the warm sunlight during the day, can easily absorb the manifold flavours of the cool nights.
It takes about 1 to 1.5 months to pick all the grapes as the vineyards have to be monitored several times for vintage to ensure that only the ripest grapes are collected. It goes without saying that the grapes are picked by hand.
